Sudden Death of Oscar Watt
Sudden Death of Oscar Watt While sitting on the stoop of his residence on Briggs street, near Third, last evening, Oscar Watt, a well-known old colored man, complained of feeling sick and asked a young man to help him to his room. Dr. Fritchey was summoned, but Watt was dead. It is supposed apoplexy caused his death. He was about 70 years old and a consistent member of Grace Methodist Church. Oscar Watt was brought here before the war by the late General Warford, once president of the Northern Central Railroad Company, whose body guard he was for several years. He had considerable property. The funeral will probably take place Friday. Newspapers.com - Harrisburg Telegraph - 9 Sep 1896 - Page 1 Sudden Death of Oscar Watt on the Evening of 8 Sep 1896
