  Notes	FOUND DEAD. On Sunday last Daniel Zedrix, probably the oldest colored resident of Tuscarora district, this county, was found in bed. Zedrix was formerly a slave of Maj. Nicholas Holtz and was almost octogenarian. He had been in feeble health for some time past, but was noticed sitting at his door some hours previous to his death. The old man was considered eccentric in his habits. He lived alone, and for the past several years on the anniversary of his birth had been in the habit of delivering an address the cross-roads near his house. “The exact purchase date of the property by Holtz is not known however in his will made in 1848 and probated on December 3, 1849, Holtz refers to his "mansion farm" and two boys, Henry and Daniel and a man, "having virtually manumitted my negro man Daniel by paying wages for seventeen or eighteen years past, I hereby release him from slavery" and Henry and Daniel are "to be free.
