    Funeral services For Edward B. Whiten, 831 South Tenth street, who died Saturday morning at his home, were held this afternoon at the home, with the Rev. Daniel Pope, pastor of the Wesley Union A. M. E. Church, officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery.
    He is survived by his widow. Mrs Ellen Whiten; a brother. Joseph, of this city, and a niece, Mrs. Martha Duffens also of this city.
    Mr. Whiten was employed as a messenger in the Governor's office at the State Capitol for thirteen years.
