Sallie Betty) did not remember her Christopher grand- parents after they moved from Virginia. I have seen no records that show the surname Martha and Betty were known by before their mother married Charles Grannison. I have found that some counties are known as "burned counties" meaning records lost when court houses burned down. This was during the Civil War that touched the area where the family lived, James City County VA. So far we have not found a generation beyond George and Polly Lee Christopher but hope springs eternal. The reason I am trying to keep the name 'alive' on the tree and Memorials.
