Notes	Enslaved by Major Bluet and then sold to Major Harris. FORMER SLAVE DIES ____________________ Alex Harris, a former southern slave, died Monday night in his home, 233 Christian Street, of the infirmities of old age. Harris was 94 years old. Harris was born in North Carolina and during the three years which he lived here has several times told how he was sold by a Major Bluet to a Major Harris. He was totally blind during the last eight years of his life. Harris leaves a wife and twelve children. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be made in Midland Cemetery. [Patriot News - July 28, 1920]
