  Notes	Richard Hill Died Aged 103 years In November I was finally able to read a headstone in one of the oldest sections in Lincoln Cemetery. This gentleman was named Richard Hill. His stone is not completely legible, but his name also appears on the Lincoln Cemetery Family Plot maps. I found 2 records for a Black man named Richard Hill, living in Dauphin County in the 19th century. A Richard Hill appears on the 1880 census living with his daughter, Jane Hill Berry, and her family at 225 River Street in Harrisburg. Jane is buried in the plot next to Richard's. There is also a Richard Hill who registered for the draft in Harrisburg in 1863, but I have not found any record of him having served in the Civil War. If this is the same Richard Hill, who is listed as Jane's father, it is unlikely that his date of birth was 1805 (as recorded on the 1880 census). It is recorded on his gravestone that he was 103 years old at the time of death. Given the age of the gravestone and location in the cemetery, he was probably born much earlier. However it is also possible that I found the father of the Richard Hill living at 225 River street in 1880. Which would make him Jane Hill Berry's grandfather.
