  Notes	DEATH OF NICHOLAS BUTLER. Nicholas L. Butler, one of Harrisburg's widest-known colored citizens, died Monday afternoon. Every famous negro visiting this city was entertained at Mr. Butler's barber shop, South street. Mr. Butler was born in Frederick City, Md., September 17, 1848, and came to Harrisburg August 13, 1868. He was married to Sarah A. Myers, of Shippensburg, who survives him. Mr. Butler was an active spirit, in the affairs connected with his race. In the early '70s he was a charter member of the famous Excelsior band. He was a charter member of the Old Reliable club. In the fraternities he was a member at death, of Brotherly Love lodge, No. 896, G.U.0. of O.F., Master Council and Patriarch. In the Masons, he was a member of Chosen Friends lodge, No. 43, F. and A. M., Harris chapter, and St James' commandery, K.T. His funeral will take place from Wesley church, of which he was a member, Thursday at 2 p. m. The body will rest in the church from 10 a. m. until 2p.m. The Rev. E. D. W. Jones, pastor of the church, will deliver the funeral eulogy. No visible gravestone Fall 2022.
