  Notes	This is the burial of the man believed to be Smith Price, earlier buried at Shorter's Cemetery on Acton Lane in Annapolis. His remains and those of young boy, possibly his son, were disinterred during an urban renewal project in 1980 and kept by the Maryland Historical Trust until 2019. They were repatriated to Asbury United Methodist Church in Annapolis, of which Smith Price was one of the founders, on July 24, 2019. A "Homecoming: Rapatriation, Reunion and Reburial" ceremony was held at Asbury on November 1, 2019, with reburial taking place at St. Anne's Cemetery the same day. Several members of the Price family are buried at St. Anne's Cemetery. These burial sare in the same plot. Smith Price was born into slavery on Maryland's Eastern Shore, sometime before the American Revolution, the son of a slave woman named Margaret and a white man named Thomas Price. He and his wife Nancy (Ann) and their four children were freed upon the death of their owner, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, in 1791. The family resettled in Annapolis and Price, who was a skilled blacksmith, worked as a farmer and became well-to-do enough to buy land on Acton Lane. In 18-3 he donated the land on which the first African Methodist Episcopal Church was built the next year. He died in 1807. The results of DNA testing are pending.
