    Notes:

Following is a portion of the writings of Rev. Martin Luther Blalock who wrote this information regarding his mother, Margaret Black Williams as part of her eulogy:
My Mother ---- Mrs. Margaret Williams, My Mother as far as I have been able to learn was born in the State of Alabama. At the age of 3 years, she was sold as a slave and carried into the State of Georgia. She lived at Fayetteville, Georgia with her former owners until the close of the Civil War, Among the emancipated Slaves who left their former owners at the close of the war My Mother was one: she went to Atlanta to live, her and her husband Henry Black, who shortly died, after several years she married Henry Williams and they lived happily together for many years; in 1899 he died. Therefore, she lived with me and my family since 1902. She has been in my home for 19 years she has been a darling mother indeed, quiet and assuming and was kind to all. She was particularly kind and loving to all children and all loved her who knew her she lived some of the best families of Atlanta her services were always in demand as a caretaker or nurse for children She was a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Atlanta, Rev H. H. Proctor, Pastor. She was a faithful member of that church until she came to Harrisburg and then joined Wesley Union A.M.E. Zion Church of which I was Pastor, she has been identified with this church ever since. She died as she lived, quiet, peaceful, without a struggle on the 13th day of April 1921 on Wednesday evening.
