    For Years He Was Connected the Capitol died of Paralysis
    David Moore Robinson, one of the best known citizens of Harrisburg, who has been ill for some time at his home, 118 Cowden street, as the result of a stroke of paralysis, died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Surrounded by the members of his family.

    Mr. Robinson peacefully passed away, unconscious to the last. Last Thursday Mr. Robinson, who was employed at the capitol as a watch man, went to his home suffering from a severe cold which rapidly developed into pneumonia and ended in stroke of paralysis which ended in death. His robust physique could not withstand the severe attack.

    Mr. Robinson was a native of Chester county and moved to Harrisburg when a boy, sixty years ago. In 1855 he married Miss Catherine M, Johnson, of this city, who with the following children survives him: Mrs. Jennie Hodges, of New Zealand; Mrs. Florence Stevens, of Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Kate R. Malone, of Detroit; Mrs. Agnes L. Arnold, of Wilberforce, O.; Harvey, of Jamestown, N.Y.; Harry, letter carrier in Wilmington, Del, and John, of New York City. All of the children were highly educated and Florence, the second daughter, was a Vocalist of high culture.

    Mr. Robinson, many years ago was appointed a messenger in the State Treasury, serving under the late Robert Mackey, and afterwards had charge of the Executive mansion under Governor Beaver Some time ago he was made a capitol watchman, and later was in charge of several rooms in the Senate, part of the new Capitol, being on duty at the time he was taken with his last illness, He enjoyed the confidence and esteem of many state officials, and was a kindly, courteous gentleman.

    As a member of the secret societies of the city he attained a number of high positions, and belonged to Brotherly Love Lodge and Miriam Household of Ruth, I. V. O. F.; Household of Friends Lodge of Masons, the Scottish Rite and New York Mystic Shriners.

    He was also a member of the Eastern Star. The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon from his late residence, under Masonic auspices, Rev. M. L. Blalock and Rev. W. H. Marshall having charge of the obsequies.

    David Moore Robinson, the well known Capitol policeman, was buried on Saturday afternoon. The impressive services were conducted by Rev. M. L. Blaylock, whose sermon from Job xiv:14 was an eloquent tribute to the deceased. Rev. Drs. Reed, Hood and Johnson took part in the services and Rev. W. H. Marshall delivered a eulogy.

    Solos were sung by Mrs. Fanny Bruce, "Lead Kindly Light," and by Mrs. Margaret Scott, "Abide with me." Mrs Bruce and Prof. T. P. Scott and Jos. G. Popel sang, "Nearer my God to thee." Many handsome and appropriate floral designs testified of his friends esteem. The Chosen Friends Lodge No. 43, F. and A. M., attended in a body and observed ceremonies peculiar to the fraternity; the pall-bearers were selected from that society.

    Letters and telegrams from public men all over the State told how widely he was known. Many people called to take a last look upon a man who has resided here over sixty years.
